Intro to Songwriting Intensive Workshop
A hands-on workshop on how to write songs: - Lyrics, Melody, Chord Progression - Hook Writing and Bridges - Phrasing and Storytelling - Improvisation and Song Form We will be analyzing existing songs for their structure and hit elements, and each student will write 1-2 songs of their own during the workshop. This workshop does not require prior songwriting experience. 
Optional: Recording Add-On
You can professionally record your original song at the end of the workshop if you choose the optional recording add-on! The add-on includes a 4 hours session in the studio for production, recording, and mixing time with our producer and engineer. An example for how to use your time in the recording studio: 1. Producing/Recording 1-3 instruments for your backing track (1.5 hours) 2. Recording Vocals (1 hour) 3. Editing (1 hour) 4. Mixing (half hour) Details (the time can be allocated differently, this is just an example): 1. Our professional recording engineer is going to record/produce a simple instrumental for your song with you, usually using Ableton or another production software, with midi instruments of your choice (or real piano/bass/guitar & any additional instrument you play). 2. Once the instrumental is ready, it's time to record your voice! Depending on your time allocation you might even be able to add backing vocals to your lead. 3. Afterwards, the engineer will listen to your recorded takes with you to pick your favorite/best takes to create a vocal "comp", and edit it (e.g. tune, etc.) 4. The engineer will mix your song in the end (you don't have to be present for that part, but you can), and you are going to get your finished song same-day! The recording session date can be scheduled individually. It will take place in our recording studio at Krowne Vocal School. You can also use the full 4 hours for the instrumental and voice recording and then purchase additional remote mixing/mastering time with our engineer at a discounted rate ($55/hr) -- our engineer will then finish the mix at home and send it to you within a couple of days! |
